Mechanical exfoliation of layered crystals would provide monolayer or thin flakes with new electronic, magnetic, and optical properties dissimilar with those of bulk one. Such method would provide the interesting 2D materials with best crystalline quality; therefore we are forcing on the synthesis of large crystals of new layered materials, including insulator, ferromagnetic and ferroelectric materials.
